Oman has a flourishing building and construction industry, being the second largest driver of non-oil growth and playing a key role in Oman’s economy. It is also known for being one of the biggest project markets in the Middle East region.
Among the projects underway are the Madinat Al Irfan, also known as the City of Future (US$ 5 billion), Oman-China Industrial City (US$ 10.7 billion), Duqm Refinery (US$ 6 billion), and Khazaen Economic City (US$ 16 billion). Special economic zones and integrated tourism complexes (ITCs) are also attracting foreign investors.
The 17th Oman Design and Build Week (formerly The BIG Show) offers a beneficial and convenient platform for contractors, consultants, architects, engineers, project managers, facility managers, home owners, buyers and companies in the business of building, construction and interior design to take advantage of the favorable opportunities arising from these projects.
